Classic. What would Gloria Swanson say if she knew she was being immortalized on a paint swatch from Lowes?
Lupine Pink, Martha Stewart Paint Collection
Though I’ve never planted lupines before, I have a special place in my heart for them. One of my favorite books from childhood was Miss Rumphius, aka the lupine lady, by Barbara Cooney. She had a beautiful, simple, yet elegant style. A classic children’s author and illustrator. Here is a quote to show how wise a woman she was:
On her receiving the Caldecott Medal in 1959:
“I believe that children in this country need a more robust literary diet than they are getting…. It does not hurt them to read about good and evil, love and hate, life and death. Nor do I think they should read only about things that they understand…. a man’s reach should exceed his grasp. So should a child’s. For myself, I will never talk down to—or draw down to—children.”

Makes me think of spring. Hope it makes you smile.
One of the craziest quotes of all time. I was a fan of Werner Herzog before seeing this excerpt from Burden of Dreams (a documentary following Herzog into the jungle) but this solidified it. I have to credit the Neistat Brothers for showing this clip from the movie within one of their HBO episodes. Jump to minute 1:17 to get the full experience. :-)
Last in the series. Let me know your thoughts. What do you think?
Combination of two elements.
